Microscope
History of microscopes in teaching: Microscopes were first introduced in classrooms in the mid to late 1900’s. They were used to teach students the makeup of cells, the reproduction of cells, and to look at what kinds of organisms are in just one single drop of water.
Current use of microscopes in teaching: Microscopes in the classroom are being used for the same reasons as they were when they were first introduced in the classroom. They are used to show students what cell division looks like, what blood cells look like when they are over saturated or undersaturated, or even to look at hair follicles.
Future use of microscopes in teaching: We don't see the use of microscopes changing too much when being used in the classroom. They are going to be used to show students cells, and what cells look like.
